NOTW #3

Shade 9 - £1 - MUA - Superdrug
You might have seen my previous MUA haul where I picked up a pink nail varnish from this collection, I loved it so much, I decided trying out this one next. It's called Shade 9, (anyone else find it weird MUA just call the products 'shades' instead of actual names?) & it's a sky blue. Not a very Autumn colour, but it's so hot in the UK at the moment, I thought I'd match my nails to the colour of our sky. It's gorgeous. I've used two coats to achieve this colour, it was slightly streaky with one coat so I'd recommend using two.

The other day, my friend at work started singing The A Team by Ed Sheeran & to be honest, I'd already heard it on the radio, but it didn't make a lasting impression on me. He insisted on bringing in the album so I could download it & give the other songs a try. This morning, I uploaded it to my ipod & honestly.. I love it. His songs are so beautiful. : ) Anyone else a massive fan?

Thank you so much to you all for your get well soon comments on my last post. You sweeties! I do feel alot better thank you, just got to get rid of my snuffly nose now. Feels weird being ill when it's all Summery still. : )

Anyone else currently having problems with commenting on other people's blogs? When I click 'post' the comment I've just written disappears. : /

Today

Found here
Today is a weird day.

& this quote, just somehow fits.

I feel so ill, my whole body aches. It's such a weird feeling. I walked Honey & Harv earlier, for about 20 minutes & came home struggling to breathe for the next half an hour. Urghhh - & it's such a gorgeous day. I feel so annoyed wasting all this beautiful sunshine by being stuck inside.

How are you all girls? I went shopping again yesterday & picked up a few items I'll post up soon. I got this gorgeous LBD but I'm going to have to exchange it I think. I tried on a size 10 & it was quite tight so went & bought the size 12 (without trying it on - probably not a good idea) but it's way too big so I'm either going to get another dress or go for the 10 & try to squeeze into it. The dress is so stunning, I'd actually be happy to lose a few pounds for it. Sad..? Yes. : )

I've also been addicted to the Seven Dwarves documentary that's been showing on Channel 4 & it was the last one last night. What will I do with my Tuesday evenings now!? Haha. Did any of you watch it? I actually found it really entertaining & eye-opening.

Anyway, I'm going to go for another nap now, my head feels like it's going to explode. : /

Talk to you all soooon. ♥

MUA Haul

Hello lovelies. Hope you're all well.

Thought I'd show you some of the MUA products I picked up last week. I've done another video on this as well, so if you want to watch it, click here.

Right, so I picked up three lipsticks, a nail varnish, three eye shadows & a pressed powder all for £7. I wonder how many of you read that & went 'whatttt!?' Yes, you see I got eight products for £7. Now we all know MUA is cheap.. but that would mean I got one free right? Well yes, I did! My pressed powder scanned through at £0.00. No idea why / how etc. But, even more of a bargain don't you think? : )

So you've all seen the standard pressed powder before (no point me reviewing this, it's boring & well.. I'm sure I've posted about it before) but here's a picture anyway!

It's shade 2 & just goes over my foundation (as I use a liquid foundation, it's quite handy to help it dry quicker)

So on to the new-er stuff. : )

First the nail varnish. Now I haven't actually ever bought a nail varnish from MUA, but I saw this colour & just thought it was so pretty, I couldn't resist.

I painted my nails last Friday (Monday today) & only applied one coat to see how it would wear & I'm actually really impressed. It's only chipped a little on two fingers, so not bad at all. It also dried really fast, which is always a requirement I go for in nail varnishes. (I'm so impatient waiting for them to dry!)

Next, the eye shadows.

This turquoise one was a impulse buy. I love this colour but no idea if I'll find something to wear with it.

Sparkly purple. I do love my sparkles for nights out. : )

& a dark purple. I'm going to try to create a smokey eye, using purples instead of silvers, black & greys. I'll definitely try to take pictures & show you if it turns out half decent!

So next is the three lipsticks, in three different shades. : )

This is the first one, it's a very strong, barbie pink colour & I have to say, this is my favourite out of the three I bought. I don't know why, but it seems to have a stronger pigment than the other two. (even though one is dark red) It just lasts a lot longer.

This is the pearly soft pink. It's alot more sparkly, but in a sutle way. (If that makes sense) I do like this colour, but it doesn't tend to last very long on your lips. (2 hours tops)

This is the dark red. I wore this out on a night out on Saturday & it actually lasted quite a long time.

Swatches of all three:

Sooo, what do you think? Have you tried any of these products or any other shades of MUA lipsticks you'd recommend?

Oh yes & I've created an about me page today as well. (I have been a busy bee!) So check it out if you'd like. : )

Guzzle Puzzle

I want to tell you a story about these sweets.

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching tv with Gordon & an advert for these came on. We sat in silence until it had finished & when it had, we turned to each other with huge smiles on our faces & just went "omg, we have to get some of these!" If you haven't seen the advert, you can watch it here. It's not that exciting to be honest, but being the couple that we are, we made it our mission to get these sweets.

This happened about 2 days before we went to Spain & being the forgetful people that we are, we had totally forgotten to buy these until at the airport, sitting waiting for our delayed flight when I suddenly remembered & we spent the next half an hour, walking around trying to find them. We tried W H Smiths & other sweet shops, but nothing.

Seeing the advert in Spain (his Dad could pick up some of the English channels on his tv) was just torture. You have no idea. So, after 2 weeks of being away, we came home & had totally forgotten (again) to buy some.

Yesterday was the last day we got to spend together as Gordon goes to uni tomorrow so I had to say goodbye to him this morning (mega sad face) but we decided to go shopping yesterday to get him some new jeans & me.. just some more clothes & accessories. We got home & I suddenly shouted at him, whilst watching the Seven Dwarfs documentary on 4od, we'd forgotten the Guzzle Puzzles again. We immediately trekked to Tesco, hoping to find some, & guess what.. WE DID! Finallllly. So we got 2 packets each, paid & went back to the car to eat them. It was a momentous moment, as we both fitted the two sweets together & chewed. Silence. Then..

"THESE ARE CRAP!"

Hahaha - they actually weren't that bad, but you know, if you'd been fantasising about these amazing flavours for so long & all you got was the taste of an every day Haribo, it kinda makes you a little sad to say the least.

Well there you go. The story of the Guzzle Puzzles. (If you've read all of that story I'm so proud of you..!)

On to more exciting news, like I said, I did go shopping yesterday & will have a couple of hauls coming up soon. : D YAY. Hope you're all well.

Mini Ring Haul

Two posts in one day? You lucky ladies! ; D

So, I went shopping & had lunch with my girls earlier today & thought I'd show you what I bought, all surprisingly rings:

Dorothy Perkins still has a sale on some of it's jewellery, so definitely check that out. I'm so indecisive when it comes to gold & silver at the moment. Which is your favourite?

I've also posted a short video about these rings, so check it out on my channel here. : D

Right.. off to work I go. Watching Jane Erye tonight, has anyone seen it?

Sailor Shoes

I totally forgot to blog about these flip flops before I went on holiday!

I got them from Primark a couple of months ago, £1 each! I had to get them in the pink & blue,  (being so cheap & pretty) so 2 pairs of shoes for £2! Bargaaain. I love the little boat & anchor attached to the front, only thing I will say is it does sometimes get stuck between your toes & is slightly uncomfortable, but you get used to it. : )

I'm off to meet my girls for lunch in a sec, so sorry this is a short post. I'm going shopping tomorrow, so hopefully they'll be a haul coming up soon. Hope you're all well girls. : )

Spain!

Morning lovelies, how are you all today?

This is my favourite photo of our holiday & I'm proud to say it's just one of those random photos that we had no idea would even come out in focus or anything. My camera was perched on a bench on self-timer & it was so sunny we couldn't see if the little light had even gone off to take the picture or not, so we were just randomly posing. ANYWAY. This was taken near out little beach we went to about 5 or 6 times during our holiday. It was gorgeous & surprisingly quiet, I don't think many people went to it as it was quite small & there was a larger one just round the corner, but we loved it. The small, quiet ones are the best. : )

We were actually really lucky, the sun was out for the whole two weeks, except two days where it poured with rain. And yes, I mean poured! How silly is it that most roads don't have drains in Spain because they don't get rain often, but when they do, it totally floods! -sigh- Apart from that, the sun shone the whole time (being from the UK, it's the most awesome feeling ever to be able to go out in the morning without a coat stuffed in your bag just in case the weather changes it's mind half way through the day, which it usually does).

Apart from spending days at the beach & the pool outside Gordon's Dad's apartment, we ventured north up to Benidorm & to this little village that was so old-fashioned, they don't have any roads so you have to walk everywhere. It was really high up in the mountains, with some amazing views.

I know my tan looks totally weird, how brown are my legs & my body's like, white!? Hahaha! It's honestly not that bad, my legs are slightly darker, but it's not as noticeable in real life as it is in these photos!

We also went to the neighbouring town to us called Torrevieja, they do the nicest ice creams ever. I was annoyed because I forgot to bring my camera that night, I would have got some amazing photos too because there was a fair & small market going on at 11pm at night! It was totally buzzzzzin' !

But yeah, we didn't do much else except sunbathe & read. I started reading the book One Day, yes I know I'm totally behind on this craze, but after watching the film, it made me want to read the book, so I am. Seriously though, I had such a good time & it went sooo quick, I can't believe I'm home already. I'm really sad as well, you know that feeling you get when you come home & you miss everything about your holiday instantly? I had that yesterday, not so bad today though. And I'm dreading next week. Gords' goes back to uni on Friday & I hate saying goodbye to him, but I'm hopefully going up to visit him in a few weeks time, it just seems to weird, spending all of two weeks together, then not seeing him for ages. Have I mentioned I hate uni's?!

Oh & it's my parents' anniversary next week, so I'm taking them to a show tonight at my work. It's a Phil Collins Tribute band. He's quite an old singer, used to be in a band called Genesis. His voice is amazing & we went to see the tribute maybe, two or three years ago & it was amazing, so really excited about that tonight.

I start work again tomorrow, I'm looking forward to catching up with the girls with some tea & biscuits & showing off my tan. Haha, apart from that, TAKE ME BACK TO SPAIN PLEASE!? That is all. : )

Thursday 15 September 2011

I'm homeee. :D

Hi girls, how are you all? : D

I'm officially back home from Spain, I can't believe how quick the two weeks went. I want to start off by saying a HUGE thankyou to all my guest bloggers, I'm so glad all the posts went up ok & I didn't screw the scheduling up! I opened my blog feed this morning & almost all of the blogs I follow have posted, (at least 5 or 6 times some of you!) So I'm going to have a huge catch up session tomorrow. I've just uploaded the pictures from my camera, (I didn't actually take that many surprisingly) to my laptop as I'm off to visit my grandparents today. I'm taking my laptop to show them pictures of my adventures. : )

Sorry this is a short post, I just wanted to say HI, I'M BACK so you all know I'm home safe & not burnt surprisingly! Hope you're all well girls! Missed you all. I'll post properly tomorrow. : )

Anna's Guest Post

Omgosh, only 2 days & I'll be flying home! Feels so weird writing this when I haven't even gone yet.

Anyway I'd like to introduce you to my final guest blogger, Anna. Her blog is awesome, I love all her different outfit posts. So TAKE IT AWAY ANNA. : )

------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there! Nice to meet you, and how are you today?! I'm the blogger from http://catflicks.blogspot.com/ aka catflicks! It's not my nickname (or name for that matter!), I just needed a blog name to use, and I always have catflick liner on :P Anyway, this is the first time I've done a guest blog post and I wasn't sure what to do. But on my blog I mainly to outfit posts (with some other beauty/make-up/stuff I've seen and want, that sort of thing!) so I thought I'd just do a simple little outfit post :)

top&skirt: topshop
belt: h&m
necklace: matalan
rings: charity shop, topshop
bracelets: old ones off my mum, river island

I thought I'd also tell you a little bit of the stuff I like, etc.

I absolutely love shoes! I think most girls love shoes...or bags (or both!) anyway. I think you are either a bag-lady or shoe-lady and even though I love bags and have a few of them...I'm definitely more of a shoe-lady!

RINGS! I love my rings, I always wear quite a few, I love piling them on :) And I also love leopard print, nail art, music, and animals. Even though I don't have any animals at the moment, but hopefully one day I'll get a cat!

Anyway I hope you've enjoyed this guest blog post, and thank you Cat, I hope you're having a brilliant holiday :)

xxx

-------------------------------------------------------

Thankyou Anna! : D
I think I have a bit of an obsession with shoes too.. not the most inexpensive of obsessions! Hahaha.

So, I should be back on Wednesday girls, I hope all these posts have appeared when they were supposed too. I probably won't blog immediately when I get back, but I'll try really hard to catch up on everything at the end of this week. : ) Hope you're all well.
